Roaming Deep Mountains Without Hesitation... Gyeongnam Fire Headquarters Conducts Spring Mountain Rescue Training on Hanwoo Mountain Gyeongnam Fire Headquarters and Uiryeong Fire Station are conducting a joint spring mountain rescue training on the 18th.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Seryeong] On the 18th, the Gyeongnam Fire Headquarters conducted a joint spring mountain rescue training at Hanwoo Mountain in Uiryeong County.


The headquarters noted that mountain accidents in Gyeongnam have been increasing annually over the past three years, and with the government's recovery policies and the With-Corona measures, the number of spring hikers is expected to rise.


The training was conducted jointly with the Uiryeong Fire Station based on a simulated scenario involving stranded or fallen hikers.

Various variables that could occur on site were created to develop rescue capabilities capable of responding to any situation and to establish a cooperative rescue system.


Experience and skills of dedicated instructor Firefighter Kang Taeyoon, who has been dispatched to mountain accidents for many years, were shared to also build rescue teamwork.


Kwon Seonghwan, head of the 119 Special Rescue Unit, said, “Rapid on-site response is crucial to protect the lives and property of residents,” adding, “We will do our best to secure the safety of our personnel and rescue residents through continuous realistic training for falls, slips, isolation, and other emergencies.”
