Evaluating Progress and Budget Execution Efficiency

The audit committee members are visiting the project site to conduct an inspection.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Geochang-gun, Gyeongnam Province, has been conducting the 2021 fiscal year budget and financial accounting settlement inspection for 20 days from the 6th to the 25th. During this period, four settlement inspection committee members, including Representative Committee Member Pyo Ju-sook, visited major project sites.

The site visits by the settlement inspection committee members are activities to check whether the budget, which was allocated alongside document inspections, was executed transparently and efficiently according to the project objectives.

Among the major projects promoted by the county this year, four sites were selected as targets considering the scale of the budget input, progress status, and overall advancement, including Bbaejjae Forest Leisure Sports Park.

The Bbaejjae Forest Leisure Sports Park project site is scheduled for completion this year. As the Extreme Mountain Coast project nears its conclusion, the committee members exchanged opinions on the current budget input status and future operation plans.

They also visited the Susungdae tourist site to check the progress of the Susungdae area mountain trail connection project, which involves installing a 240-meter-long suspension bridge.

The committee members also visited Geochang Anti-Aging Healing Land. They listened to the facility status and operation plans for the Yongso restoration project, forest houses, and forest recreation center, which were developed as tourist and leisure facilities linked with the country's only Y-shaped suspension bridge, a nationally renowned attraction, and exchanged opinions on activation measures.

The site visits concluded with an inspection of the Changpoweon waterside space ecological resource project site.

Representative Committee Member Pyo Ju-sook said, “We directly visited project sites where significant funds were invested to confirm the results and execution status of financial management. During the remaining period, we will conduct a more thorough inspection to suggest progressive improvements and recommendations, thereby preparing indicators for next year’s budget formulation and operation.”

Geochang-gun will submit the 2021 fiscal year settlement report to the local council by May 31, attaching the inspection opinion of the settlement inspection committee members, and plans to obtain the council’s approval at the first regular meeting.
