Based on 'Blockchain' Technology... Utilized in Public Services, E-Commerce, and More
[Asia Economy Reporter Ra Young-cheol] Gangwon Province will introduce 'Nayana,' an integrated service platform based on blockchain technology that allows the use of public services, e-commerce, and more, for the first time in Korea on the 18th.
According to Gangwon Province, the 'Nayana' platform launching on this day can provide non-face-to-face subsidies such as allowances for farmers and fishermen using 87 types of data, basic childcare allowances, and welfare allowances for young workers.
It will also be used for policy participation (surveys), identity verification for public facility use, e-commerce, social networking services, and more.
The development period for 'Nayana' was initially expected to take more than two years, but through collaboration between the province and participating entities, it was shortened to 11 months.
The development investment totaled 5.15 billion KRW, including 950 million KRW in national funds, 2.54 billion KRW in provincial funds, and 1.66 billion KRW in private capital.
Prior to the full launch, the beta version of 'Nayana' was listed on the Play Store and App Store on the 1st of this month, and the service was improved by reflecting the opinions of over 3,500 residents who participated in a two-week test.
Subsequently, from the 29th of last month for two days, 291 public officials from towns, townships, and neighborhoods were trained on how to handle tasks using 'Nayana.'
Meanwhile, 'Nayana' was selected for a non-face-to-face civil service contest project in June last year, securing a special grant of 350 million KRW, and in July of the same year, the province and the Ministry of the Interior and Safety signed a joint agreement to promote the public My Data service project.
Governor Choi Moon-soon stated, "'Nayana' has been recognized for its excellence by the central government, and we plan to expand services to tourism, jobs, welfare, finance, and export the service to foreign governments."
