Fire Occurs at Apartment in Seoul Hagye-dong...1 Dead, 1 Burned

[Asia Economy Reporter Gong Byung-sun] At around 3:38 AM on the 18th, a fire broke out in an apartment on the 9th floor of a 15-story building in Hagye-dong, Nowon-gu, Seoul, resulting in the death of a woman in her 50s at the scene.

According to the fire authorities, the woman’s residence was completely burned down, and a man in his 20s living with her suffered second-degree burns and was transported to the hospital. About 60 apartment residents evacuated due to the fire.

The fire department deployed 27 pieces of equipment and 96 personnel, and completely extinguished the fire around 4:27 AM. The fire authorities are currently investigating the exact cause of the fire.
