[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Jin-hyung] A National Quality Master affiliated with the Gwangju Metropolitan City branch of the National Quality Masters Association declared support for Lee Yong-seop, the Democratic Party of Korea's preliminary candidate for mayor of Gwangju, on the 17th.
They stated at the election camp that afternoon, "He is the best candidate to create a Gwangju where principles and justice are alive, and we support this preliminary candidate who promises to complete a bigger and stronger Gwangju."
They continued, "The current mayor, this preliminary candidate, has demonstrated innovative leadership respecting principles and justice over the past four years, and through servant leadership based on diverse national administrative experience, expertise, and respect for humanity, he has clearly indicated the path Gwangju should take."
They also pledged, "Through Gwangju-type Job Model Season 2, quality masters will actively participate in quality and management improvement activities of local small and medium-sized enterprises."
They said, "We earnestly hope that the era of a 'bigger and stronger Gwangju' will fully open and that a Gwangju-centered global era will begin. We also promise to work together to create a Gwangju where our youth can dream of the world, the best, and the future without leaving their hometown."
Alongside this preliminary candidate, they declared they would walk together to solve key regional issues such as ▲ soaring as an AI-centered city by securing AI-based convergence quality competitiveness, ▲ advancing as a hub for future talent development by fostering skilled master technicians to create customized Gwangju-type jobs, and ▲ establishing and operating a Youth Master Academy to bring young people back to Gwangju.
About 40 masters from the Gwangju branch attended the support declaration, including Han Nam-jin, head of the Gwangju Metropolitan City branch (Samsung Electronics), Jeong Na-yeon, advisor (Kia Motors), Byeon Seong-yeon, advisor (Kumho Tire), and Kim Seong-gon, secretary-general (Korea Gas Technology Corporation).
