Beneficiaries of Death Insurance Payment Are a Company Owned 100% by 'Older Brother's Couple and Nephew'

[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Kim Se-eun] Broadcaster Park Su-hong (52) claims that he was unknowingly enrolled in eight life insurance policies, with the beneficiaries being his older brother and sister-in-law.
On the 15th, entertainment YouTuber Lee Jin-ho released a video on his YouTube channel stating that Park Su-hong is mentally distressed due to the eight life insurance policies taken out in his name by his brother's family.
In the video, Lee explained, "After reviewing all the working documents related to the company owned by Park Su-hong's brother and sister-in-law, it was confirmed that eight life insurance policies were taken out in Park Su-hong's name," adding, "The beneficiaries of the insurance payouts were all a company called 'Mediaboom.'"
Mediaboom is a company 100% owned by Park Su-hong's brother and sister-in-law, and it has been confirmed that even Park Su-hong's nephews are registered as executives of this company.
He continued, "The total death benefit amounts to nearly 1 billion KRW," and "This amount was designed to go entirely to the brother, sister-in-law, and nephews."
The insurance enrollment was carried out entirely by the sister-in-law. Trusting his older brother and sister-in-law, Park Su-hong reportedly responded to phone calls at the time of enrollment without fully understanding these circumstances.
Lee added, "Park Su-hong was deeply shocked by this fact," and "He suffered great emotional wounds from a sense of personal betrayal, not just financial issues."
Earlier, in April of last year, Park Su-hong filed a complaint accusing his older brother and sister-in-law of embezzlement, alleging that they failed to pay approximately 10 billion KRW in appearance fees and contract money over 30 years.
Since then, Park was recently spotted volunteering with the organization 'Veterinarians Without Borders.'
