[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Ji-eun] Kim Jong-un, General Secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea, paid tribute at the Kumsusan Palace of the Sun on the 15th to mark the 110th anniversary of Kim Il-sung's birthday (Day of the Sun), North Korean media reported on the 16th.
Korean Central News Agency reported, "Comrade Kim Jong-un, accompanied by Mrs. Ri Sol-ju, visited the Kumsusan Palace of the Sun on April 15th on the occasion of the nation's greatest and most joyous Day of the Sun."
The General Secretary and his wife visited the 'Eternal Life Hall,' where the bodies of Kim Il-sung and Kim Jong-il lie, to pay their respects, and placed flower baskets in the names of the Party Central Committee, State Affairs Commission, Standing Committee of the Supreme People's Assembly, and the Cabinet before the statues of Kim Il-sung and Kim Jong-il. Accompanying them on the visit were Choe Ryong-hae, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Supreme People's Assembly, Jo Yong-won, Secretary of the Party Central Committee for Organization, Kim Tok-hun, Premier of the Cabinet, and officials from the military institutions.
The report did not include any statements from the General Secretary.
Kim Jong-un also attended the 'Central Report Meeting Celebrating the 110th Anniversary of Comrade Kim Il-sung's Birth' held the previous day, as well as a mass demonstration in Pyongyang.
