[Seoul District News] Seongbuk-gu to Recruit Participants for Seoul Ggamju House Repair Support Project from April 29 to May 13... Single-family House Repair Subsidy up to 12 Million KRW, Loan up to 60 Million KRW Available

Seongbuk-gu Supports Up to 12 Million KRW for Construction Costs of Detached Houses Over 20 Years Old

[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Seongbuk-gu is recruiting participants for the Seoul Beautiful House Repair Support Project in collaboration with Seoul City to repair old and deteriorated houses.

The Seoul Beautiful House Repair Support Project is a program that provides partial financial support (subsidy and loan) for repair costs to residents of aging low-rise houses located in the housing performance improvement support zones within the area, aiming to improve residential environments and urban aesthetics.

The repair subsidy supports up to 50% of the construction costs for detached houses (including multi-family and multiplex houses) and apartment houses (multi-family and row houses) that have been approved for use for more than 20 years within the housing performance improvement support zones. For detached houses, the maximum support is up to 12 million KRW.

Loan applications are available for detached and apartment houses in Seoul that have been approved for use for more than 10 years. Loans can cover up to 80% of the construction costs, with a maximum loan limit of 60 million KRW for detached houses, and interest support up to 2%.

Repair subsidies prioritize vulnerable groups such as basic livelihood security recipients. For general applicants, support recipients will be selected through a preliminary evaluation and subsidy review considering the degree of housing aging and length of residence.

There are a total of 12 housing performance improvement support zones in Seongbuk-gu. To check whether a property is located within these zones, visit the ‘Seoul City Jipsuri.com’ website. If expert consultation is needed, a ‘Repair Specialist’ can visit to provide free technical advice on the scope and methods of construction.

To participate in the project, applicants must visit the Seongbuk-gu Urban Regeneration Division in person and submit the required documents between April 29 and May 13. The announcement and application forms can be found on the Seongbuk-gu Office or Seoul City Jipsuri.com websites.

A Seongbuk-gu Office official stated, “Through the Seoul Beautiful House project, we hope residents who have hesitated to repair their homes due to repair costs can renovate their old houses and live in a more comfortable environment.”
