Goryeong-gun, Gyeongbuk Province, held an explanatory meeting on the return-to-farming support project for urban residents on the 11th.
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yeo Jong-gu] Goryeong-gun, Gyeongbuk Province, has held an explanatory meeting for the return-to-farming support project for participants in the "Living in the Countryside" program since the 11th.
The "Living in the Countryside" program, first conducted last year, encouraged successful settlement by providing urban residents with the opportunity to live in rural areas for an extended period before returning to farming or relocating, experiencing various activities and interacting with local residents.
This year, the program will run for five months from April to October, divided into two sessions: the first session for three months (April to July) and the second session for two months (September to October).
The seven participants recruited this time will reside in Gaesil Village and complete programs offered there, such as making strawberry jam, learning cultivation techniques for major local crops, and exploring Goryeong culture.
Lee Jae-won, director of the Agricultural Technology Center, said, "We will prepare multifaceted support so that many hopeful returnees and relocators can settle stably in Goryeong-gun through the Living in the Countryside program."
