Suncheon-si Operates 'Writing the Autobiography of My Life' Course

Invitation to the Autobiography Writing Course on Self-Reflection and Discovery

Registration from the 18th to 27th, 20 sessions every Wednesday from next month to September

[Suncheon=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] On the 15th, Suncheon City in Jeollanam-do announced that it will operate the ‘Writing the Autobiography of My Life’ program for citizens aged 60 and over.

The ‘Writing the Autobiography of My Life’ program is designed for ordinary seniors to share the wisdom and experiences they have accumulated over half a lifetime with the local community. The city plans to actively support the seniors’ unique life stories to be fully reflected in their handwriting through a total of 20 lectures.

This course will be held every Wednesday morning from May to September at the Dongbu Senior Welfare Center.

Citizens of Suncheon aged 60 or older who wish to participate in the autobiography writing course can apply in person at the Dongbu Senior Welfare Center with their ID from the 18th to the 27th.

Last year, about 10 autobiographies were published through the autobiography writing program, and the published books are stocked at the municipal library and various senior welfare centers to share with citizens, widely promoting the history and life stories of the seniors.

A Suncheon city official said, “We hope that many seniors will participate in the autobiography writing program to look back on their lives so far and have an opportunity to plan their second life.”
