[Asia Economy Reporter Jeong Hyunjin] As Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla, moves to acquire Twitter, Parag Agrawal, CEO of Twitter, told employees on the 14th (local time) that Musk cannot change Twitter's company culture.

According to The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) and others, Agrawal CEO said at an all-hands meeting that Twitter has a strong culture of protecting its users and "no single person can change that." He also emphasized that "Twitter represents much more than one person or anyone else."

The meeting was held amid internal unrest following reports of Musk CEO's acquisition news. Leslie Berland, Chief Marketing Officer (CMO), read questions submitted via Slack, and Agrawal CEO answered for 30 minutes. He spoke in a relatively neutral tone and reportedly tried to reassure employees. He encouraged employees to focus on their work and said, "We, the employees, control what happens."

Agrawal CEO did not disclose details of Musk CEO's acquisition proposal but said, "The board is reviewing it." When asked how the board decided to seat Musk CEO as a company director and whether all billionaires would be invited to the board, he replied, "It was a decision made in the best interest of shareholders." He stated, "There is a strong belief that voices critical of our service are something we must emphasize to learn and improve."

Additionally, when an employee asked about Tesla's treatment of minority employees, Agrawal CEO said the board is considering such issues as well and emphasized that diversity is central to Twitter's identity.

Bloomberg News reported that Jack Dorsey, the founder, and other board members did not appear separately or issue statements.
