About 5,400 Applicants for 1,300 Units
Pyeongtaek Godeok 5.5 to 1, Incheon Yeongjong 2.5 to 1
[Asia Economy Reporter Jo Gang-wook] The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport announced on the 15th that the public pre-sale application, announced on the 29th of last month, received about 5,400 applications for the supply of 1,300 public sale housing units, recording an average competition rate of 4.1 to 1.
Pre-sale is a system that supplies housing early on public land, and in the case of public sales, a total of 35,000 units have been supplied since July last year. During this period, the cumulative number of visitors to the pre-sale website has exceeded 29 million, showing sustained high interest.
As a result of this application, Pyeongtaek Godeok recorded an average competition rate of 5.5 to 1 with 3,993 applicants for a total supply of 727 units. In particular, the 59㎡ type showed the highest competition rate of 8.3 to 1. Incheon Yeongjong recorded an average competition rate of 2.5 to 1 with 1,461 applicants for a total supply of 589 units.
The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport analyzed that both Pyeongtaek Godeok and Incheon Yeongjong are new towns with excellent infrastructure such as transportation and residential/living conditions, and a balanced supply of housing types that demanders can choose from led to high competition rates. Especially, the Pyeongtaek Godeok district, supplied as the first nationwide pre-sale complex, received interest evenly from across the country, with the residence ratio of applicants being 55.9% from Gyeonggi Province and 44.1% from other regions (Seoul 17.8%, Chungnam 5.4%, Chungbuk 2.3%, Busan 2.1%, Gangwon 2.1%, Daejeon 2.0%, Incheon 1.8%, etc.).
Also, by age group, the application results showed that 30s accounted for 40.4%, 20s 29.1%, 40s 15.1%, 50s 10.0%, and 60 and above 5.4%, indicating a high demand for subscriptions among the youth.
The Ministry plans to announce the winners of this public pre-sale on the 28th after verifying eligibility such as subscription account qualification, and then conduct additional screening to confirm final winners based on income, non-homeownership, and other qualification criteria.
Nam Young-woo, head of the Public Housing Promotion Team at the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, said, "We will continue to strive to supply high-quality public housing at affordable prices in places like the 3rd phase new towns where anyone wants to live."
