[Asia Economy Reporter Kwon Hyun-ji] The floor leadership of the People Power Party on the 15th repeatedly urged President Moon Jae-in to exercise his veto power against the 'Complete Removal of Prosecutorial Investigation Rights (Geomsu Wanbak)' bill being pushed by the Democratic Party of Korea.

Kwon Seong-dong, the floor leader of the People Power Party, emphasized at the floor strategy meeting held at the National Assembly in Yeouido, Seoul, that the Geomsu Wanbak bill is a law that requires public understanding, stating, "If it is unilaterally processed, President Moon would be seen as siding with the Democratic Party's collective selfishness and protecting their own members," and added, "If President Moon cannot persuade the people, he should exercise his veto power." He continued, "This is an action befitting the dignity of a president, not a faction leader," and urged, "Please use the president's authority like a president."

Seong Il-jong, chairman of the Policy Committee, also said at the meeting, "President Moon is thoroughly silent on this issue (the processing of the Geomsu Wanbak bill)," and emphasized, "The last bastion for upholding the constitution is the president. This is the last chance to remain a president loved by the people and a protector of the constitution."

In addition, Floor Leader Kwon once again proposed a public debate with Park Hong-geun, the floor leader of the Democratic Party. He said, "Several media outlets have requested to host the debate," and added, "Once again, I propose a public debate to Floor Leader Park. Do not become a warlord of fandom politics; come up to the judgment stage of the people." Floor Leader Kwon had publicly proposed an unlimited TV debate regarding the Geomsu Wanbak bill to Floor Leader Park on the 13th.
