Hwasun-gun Supports Innovation Activities of Two Local Community Organizations

[Hwasun=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Ji-woon] On the 15th, Hwasun-gun, Jeollanam-do announced that it will support the innovative activities of two local community organizations (Smart Cooperative, Areumdawoon Donghaeng) selected in the Jeollanam-do social innovation contest.

The total project cost for the project, which will be carried out until the end of this year, is 36 million KRW (14.4 million KRW from the provincial government, 19.8 million KRW from the county government, and 1.8 million KRW self-funded).

In January, the county recruited social innovation activity groups where residents and local communities solve local problems by themselves and applied for the provincial contest project.

In Hwasun, two projects were selected: ▲ Cooperative healing agriculture activities for the elderly & disabled (Smart Cooperative) ▲ MatnaGO~ HappyhaGO~ (Areumdawoon Donghaeng).

The selected organizations will create experiential spaces for healing agricultural activities involving vulnerable groups such as elderly people with cognitive impairments and disabled persons, and conduct performance activities to improve the quality of life and expand cultural enjoyment opportunities for vulnerable groups in cultural and artistic welfare throughout the year.

It is expected that social participation of vulnerable groups will expand, mutual cooperative relationships will be established, and a community culture of living together will be fostered.

The county plans to evaluate outstanding projects early next year and provide incentives along with support for innovative activities.

A county official said, “We will spare no support for community activities that solve local problems by themselves,” and added, “We hope for continuous interest and participation from the residents for the innovation and change of the county.”
