According to the Busan Metropolitan Police Agency on the 15th, the Yeonje Police Station's Women and Youth Violence Team is investigating after receiving a report that Mr. A, a teacher in his 50s at an elementary school in Yeonje-gu, Busan, made sexual remarks to a student in March.

Mr. A is under investigation for sexual harassment for making inappropriate remarks during a 6th-grade class, including mentioning specific body parts and evaluating the student's body shape.

The Busan Metropolitan Office of Education received a report from parents about Mr. A's sexual remarks on the 5th and began an investigation. It is known that about six students have claimed to have been affected by Mr. A's behavior during the investigation.

Mr. A explained, "There was no intention to harass, but it happened during the process of guidance," and expressed regret for using expressions that could cause controversy.

Currently, Mr. A has been suspended from duty and is not attending school.

The Dongnae Office of Education is conducting a separate investigation from the police inquiry and has convened a Sexual Grievance Deliberation Committee to understand the overall circumstances of the sexual harassment incident and the school's response.

The decision on whether to discipline Mr. A and the severity of any punishment will likely be determined based on the results of the police investigation and the education office's inquiry.

A police official stated, "This is an ongoing investigation related to the sexual harassment of a minor, and we cannot disclose detailed information."
