Screening in the Midnight Screening Category, Collaborating with Jung Woo-sung After 22 Years
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heeyoon] Actor Lee Jung-jae's directorial debut, 'Hunt,' has been officially invited to the 75th Cannes International Film Festival.
On the 14th (local time), the Cannes International Film Festival Executive Committee announced the official selections for the 75th festival to be held next month.
'Hunt,' Lee Jung-jae's directorial debut who rose to global stardom with 'Squid Game,' will be screened in the Midnight Screening section.
The 'Midnight Screening' is a non-competitive section showcasing genre films that combine artistic quality and popular appeal. Previously, Korean films such as 'Train to Busan' (directed by Yeon Sang-ho), 'The Outlaws' (directed by Byun Sung-hyun), and 'The Spy Gone North' (directed by Yoon Jong-bin) were invited and screened in this section.
'Hunt' is a work where Lee Jung-jae and actor Jung Woo-sung, known to be close friends, reunite after more than 20 years since 'No Blood No Tears' (1999). The espionage action drama follows an ace agent of the Korean Central Intelligence Agency chasing the head of a North Korean spy network, confronting a huge truth. The reunion of the two actors after 22 years since 'No Blood No Tears' has attracted much attention.
Meanwhile, the 75th Cannes International Film Festival will be held in Cannes, France, from May 17 to 28.
