[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Ji-eun] The Blue House announced on the afternoon of the 14th that it held a Standing Committee meeting of the National Security Council (NSC) chaired by Suh Hoon, Director of the National Security Office.

The attendees checked the readiness posture to ensure there are no security gaps during the government transition period and the vulnerable security period in April, and agreed to continue closely managing the security situation.

In this regard, they first reviewed military trends including North Korea's nuclear and missile-related activities and maritime boundary posture in the waters around the West Sea NLL during the crab season.

They also expressed serious concern over the civilian massacre circumstances announced by the Ukrainian government, urged the prohibition of civilian massacres, and agreed to continue taking necessary measures such as ensuring the safety of our citizens and providing humanitarian aid to Ukraine in close cooperation with the international community.

In commemoration of the 70th anniversary of the Battle of Baengma-goji this year, they pledged to ensure the safe and smooth progress of the excavation project of remains in the Baengma-goji area, which has been actively underway since April 11.
