Hamyang-gun Holds Project Briefing Session for Gyeongnam's 'Public Interest Direct Payment System'

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Hamyang-gun, Gyeongnam Province held an explanatory meeting to efficiently promote the Gyeongnam Public Interest Direct Payment Project, a policy promoted by Gyeongnam Province.

The project briefing session held on the 14th at the Agricultural Technology Center seminar room was attended by 10 people, including representatives of the target villages and related officials.

The Gyeongnam Public Interest Direct Payment Project is a policy that has been promoted annually since 2019 to preserve the rural environment, strengthen the multifunctional roles of agriculture, and enhance village vitality and community development through public interest practice programs.

This year, the county selected seven villages that applied for the project as target villages. Through this project briefing session, the purpose of the project was explained, and the implementation methods were discussed to ensure that the projects applied for by each village could proceed smoothly.

An official from the county stated, “The Gyeongnam Public Interest Direct Payment Project supports 3 million won per village, allowing projects to be carried out in various areas such as rural environment preservation, rural landscape creation, community restoration, disaster prevention and recovery. Through the promotion of this project, it is expected to contribute to the revitalization of rural villages.”
