Jinju-si Attracts Investment Companies to Gyeongnam Aviation National Industrial Complex Jinju City is signing an MOU with Gyeongnam Province and companies to attract investment enterprises to the Aviation National Industrial Complex.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Jinju City, Gyeongnam Province, signed a tripartite investment agreement with Gyeongnam Province, Jinju City, and the investing company at the Western Government Complex on the 13th.

This agreement is an investment pact aimed at revitalizing the industry and economy of the western Gyeongnam region, including Jinju City, and creating a large number of jobs.

Jun Engineering, which confirmed the investment, is a promising company equipped with design, research and development, and production capabilities in the aerospace and marine plant sectors. Based on the accumulated technology, it plans to take on new challenges in advanced aerospace industries such as UAM.

To expand its research institute and manufacturing facilities, it plans to invest a total of 28 billion KRW in the Gyeongnam Aerospace National Industrial Complex (Jinju District) and hire 110 new employees.

A city official said, “We appreciate the company for deciding to invest in the newly developed Jinju District,” and added, “We will continue to expand the types of businesses allowed to settle in the Gyeongnam Aerospace National Industrial Complex and prepare incentives to attract more companies to invest in Jinju.”

Jinju City was designated as a National Innovation Convergence Complex in 2018 and a Small but Strong R&D Special Zone in 2019 in accordance with the government’s industrial specialization policy related to aerospace parts and materials industries. It is gradually expanding linked projects centered on industry-academia-research cooperation with relocated public institutions in the innovation city and local universities.

It is expected that the development of the Gyeongnam Aerospace National Industrial Complex will further activate the cultivation of major strategic industries by the government and city, as well as the attraction of related companies.
