Naju-si Operates April Corporate Local Income Tax Filing and Payment Period

[Naju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Han-hyeok] On the 14th, Naju City in Jeollanam-do announced that it will operate the corporate local income tax filing and payment period for April for corporations operating within the jurisdiction.

The corporate local income tax filing target is the income attributable to 2021 of corporations with fiscal year ending in December last year, which must be filed and paid to the local government having jurisdiction over the corporation's head office or business site by the 2nd of next month.

If a corporate business site is located in two or more local governments, filing and payment must be apportioned and made separately for each.

If filing is made to only one local government, a penalty for non-filing will be imposed, so caution is required.

Filing methods include internet filing and payment through Wetax, visiting the tax department of the local government where the business site is located, or mailing the documents and then paying via bank CD/ATM machines, virtual accounts, or ARS services.

For corporations that have suffered direct or indirect damage due to COVID-19, the payment deadline will be extended.

Since the extension is based on payment, the filing deadline must be observed, and the application for extension of payment deadline along with proof of damage must be submitted to the city tax department by mail or fax at least three days before the payment deadline expires.

A city official said, "On the last day or a day or two before the deadline, filings tend to concentrate, which may cause inconvenience such as system failures, so we hope people will file and pay early."
