[Imsil=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Park Nosik] The Public Officials Labor Union of Imsil County Office in Jeonbuk rolled up their sleeves to help local small business owners ahead of Labor Day on the 1st of next month.
The Imsil County Office Public Officials Union announced on the 14th that it purchased 40 million won worth of gift certificates for Labor Day and distributed 60,000 won per person to about 700 union members.
The county public officials union purchased 100 million won in two installments last year and bought 40 million won again this year.
This was done with the intention of helping local small business owners suffering from prolonged COVID-19-related business difficulties instead of producing Labor Day souvenirs for union members this time as well.
The county expects that local gift certificates will play a significant role in overcoming the local commercial district's downturn by having public officials take the lead in empathizing with small business owners.
Kim Young-su, chairman of the Imsil Market Merchants Association, said, "Many small business owners are suffering due to the prolonged COVID-19 situation, so it is regrettable, but we are grateful that the public officials union helped by purchasing gift certificates." He added, "If public officials shop with the gift certificates and buy gifts for Family Month, it is expected to contribute to the local economy."
The county public officials union hopes that this participation will spread the enthusiasm for purchasing local gift certificates to related organizations across various sectors.
The event by the county public officials union on this day was evaluated as contributing to revitalizing the local economy through mutual understanding and harmony between labor and management.
The county is actively promoting the expansion of the local love gift certificate purchase campaign, expecting it to help local small business owners and significantly contribute to the local economy.
Kim Jin-hwan, chairman of the county public officials union, said, "Ahead of Labor Day on the 1st of next month, we decided to support local small business owners struggling due to COVID-19 with labor reserve funds." He added, "Public officials purchased and distributed local gift certificates for small business owners this year as well, following 100 million won last year."
He continued, "We will become the Imsil County Office Public Officials Labor Union that leads Jeonbuk Province in supporting the local economy."
