About 400m Section of Uaro and Dodangsan-ro... 2 Billion KRW Total for Jeonju Station Area Pedestrian-Friendly Road Project
[Jeonju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Han-ho] Jeonju City announced on the 14th that it will invest a total project cost of over 2 billion KRW by August to promote the creation of pedestrian-friendly roads in the Jeonju Station area, targeting a 0.4 km section of Uwa-ro in Uwa-dong (formerly Hanyang Gas Station to Dongsin Elementary School) and Dodangsan-ro.
This project, carried out as part of the Jeonju Station area urban regeneration New Deal project, will create an environment where pedestrians can safely walk along both lanes crossing the city’s gateway, Cheotmajung-gil.
The project area currently experiences inconvenience not only for pedestrians but also for nearby merchants due to issues such as tree die-off, signboard obstruction, and uneven pavement blocks along parts of Uwa-ro and Dodangsan-ro.
Jeonju City plans to create a pleasant walking environment through maintenance of street trees and other measures.
Above all, the city will also carry out an underground wiring project to organize the disorderly tangled power lines that harm the urban landscape and pose safety risks, aiming to create a fresh and clean street.
