[Asia Economy Reporter Park Hyesook] Yeonsu-gu, Incheon, will issue a specialized card that links high school student IDs with the local currency payment function 'Yeonsu e-eum.'
On the 14th, the district announced that it signed a business agreement for the smooth operation of the 'Yeonsu e-eum Student Specialized Card' together with five high schools?Songdo High School, Shinsong High School, Yeonsu Girls' High School, Incheon Daegun High School, and Incheon Yeonsong High School?and Yeonsu e-eum operating agency Kona I Co., Ltd.
The specialized card combines the Yeonsu e-eum card and high school student ID functions, integrating convenience features such as access to school cafeterias and libraries, as well as transportation card functions.
According to the agreement, Yeonsu-gu will continuously explore ways to link the student specialized card with the local commercial district, and participating schools will support access linkage to school convenience facilities such as cafeterias and libraries.
Last December, the district was selected as an excellent institution for local love gift certificates, receiving a commendation from the Ministry of the Interior and Safety along with a financial incentive of 100 million won, which was used to promote the issuance of the Yeonsu e-eum student specialized card.
Previously, the district issued the Yeonsu e-eum resident card linked to apartment communities, a university specialized card linked to commercial districts near universities, and a corporate specialized card featuring corporate images.
Gonam-seok, Mayor of Yeonsu-gu, said, "I hope the Yeonsu e-eum student specialized card will help young people develop economic awareness," and added, "We will continue to ensure that both residents and small business owners benefit through diversified Yeonsu e-eum specialized card projects."
