Jeju Air to Double International Flights Starting Next Month


[Asia Economy Reporter Choi Dae-yeol] Jeju Air announced on the 14th that it plans to operate 174 flights on 14 international routes starting next month. Considering that it currently operates 88 flights on 8 routes, the number of routes will increase by 75% and the number of flights by 98%.


The focus is on Southeast Asian routes, frequently visited by Korean travelers and where COVID-19 quarantine measures have been eased, as well as Oceania routes with which travel bubbles have been established. Oceania has the highest number with 68 flights, followed by Southeast Asian countries such as the Philippines with 58 flights, Japan with 34 flights, and China with about 14 flights. New routes will be operated to Da Nang and Nha Trang in Vietnam, representative Southeast Asian resort destinations, as well as Bohol in the Philippines and Kota Kinabalu in Malaysia.


Along with the expansion of international routes, a promotion for Southeast Asian routes will be held. Until April 19, one-way tickets available for travel in May will be sold based on all-inclusive fares including fuel surcharges and airport facility charges, priced at 292,600 KRW for Incheon~Manila. The routes Incheon~Cebu (317,600 KRW), Incheon~Clark (292,600 KRW), and Incheon~Kota Kinabalu (312,600 KRW) are also included in the promotion.
