Yoon Elected President to Announce Additional Appointments at 2 PM... President-elect Yoon Suk-yeol will announce additional cabinet appointments at 2 p.m. on the 14th.


Bae Hyun-jin, spokesperson for the president-elect, stated at a press conference held at the Presidential Transition Committee press room in Tongui-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul, that President-elect Yoon is scheduled to hold a press conference regarding the additional appointments at 2 p.m. that day.


Through the first and second inaugural cabinet appointments announced on the 10th and 13th respectively, President-elect Yoon has nominated 17 out of 19 cabinet members, including the Prime Minister.


Among the 18 ministries, appointments for ministers of 16 ministries have been finalized, excluding the Ministry of Employment and Labor and the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs. Accordingly, it is expected that the appointments for the remaining two ministries will be announced on this day.


There is also a possibility of announcements regarding senior secretaries and aides in the Presidential Office. The day before, President-elect Yoon nominated Kim Dae-gi, former Blue House Policy Chief, as Chief of Staff to the President.


Currently, positions being discussed for appointments in the Presidential Office include the minister-level Director of National Security Office and vice-minister-level Senior Secretary for Political Affairs and Senior Secretary for Economic Affairs. Lee Jin-bok, former member of the People Power Party, is considered a strong candidate for Senior Secretary for Political Affairs, and Kim So-young, a professor in the Department of Economics at Seoul National University, is known to be a leading candidate for Senior Secretary for Economic Affairs.
