GS Fresh Mall, Restaurant Ready Meals 'Popular'... Sales Up 141% Sekwang Yang Daechang Gui exclusively sold by GS Fresh Mall.

[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chun-han] GS Fresh Mall announced on the 14th that restaurant meal replacements (RMR) are leading sales in frozen convenience foods and gaining great popularity.


According to GS Fresh Mall, RMR product sales last month increased by 141% compared to the same period last year, and among the top five best-selling products in the frozen convenience category, RMR products ranked 1st, 3rd, and 5th. The number of RMR products sold at GS Fresh Mall increased by 156% year-on-year to 284 items.


GS Fresh Mall analyzes that the popularity is due to the ability to easily enjoy famous restaurant menus and the recipes of their chefs at home. Reflecting this trend, ‘GS Only’ products exclusively sold by GS Fresh Mall, such as Sekwang Yangdaechanggui, are also receiving positive responses.


A GS Fresh Mall official said, “Having spent over six months meticulously transforming the famous restaurant’s yangdaechanggui into a convenient meal, there should be no shortage in experiencing the store’s taste,” adding, “We will strive to successfully launch the RMR products currently in preparation.”
