Resolution of One Agenda Item at the 18th Plenary Meeting
[Asia Economy Reporter Cha Min-young] The Korea Communications Commission held its 18th plenary session on the morning of the 13th and announced that it had approved the establishment and revision of related notices for the enforcement of the "Act on the Protection and Use of Location Information (Location Information Act)" amendment.
The amendment to the Location Information Act, which changes the personal location information business from a permit system to a registration system, passed the Cabinet meeting in October last year. The related enforcement decree also passed the Cabinet meeting the day before, leading to changes in the related notices.
The main contents of the establishment and revision of the notices include ▲ changes to application forms and formats due to the transition to the personal location information business registration system ▲ establishment of detailed review criteria and textual amendments due to the transition to the registration system ▲ re-establishment of textual amendments and detailed review criteria due to the transition to the registration system ▲ preparation of detailed matters for the imposition and collection of aggravated administrative dispositions and fines ▲ establishment of criteria for judging the seriousness of fines and standards for aggravation and mitigation, as well as preparation of corrective action orders and substitute provisions.
