[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] CJ OliveNetworks is issuing non-fungible tokens (NFTs) for the ‘2022 CJ Logistics Superrace Championship.’ The ‘CJ Logistics Superrace Championship,’ which opens on the 23rd, is the largest domestic event and has returned to allowing spectators after three years.
CJ OliveNetworks and Superrace announced on the 13th, "Despite two years of spectator-free races, we want to express our gratitude to fans who have continuously supported us and to preserve the thrilling moments of motorsports by releasing various types of NFTs throughout the 2022 season."
The first NFTs to be released are player cards, which can be purchased on the Metagalaxia platform. The player cards include profiles, photos of the participating vehicles, and best results of a total of 20 players, including the 2021 champion Kim Jong-gyeom, as well as Choi Myung-gil, Lee Chan-jun, and Kim Jae-hyun.
The NFT player cards created by CJ OliveNetworks feature a flashy and dynamic image inspired by tire wheel graphics symbolizing motorsports and friction sparks generated between the tire and the ground. They are characterized by 3D motion graphics depicting various appearances of the players.
CJ OliveNetworks offers various benefits to customers who purchase NFT player cards. All customers who purchase NFT player cards by the 24th will receive two gold tickets each for the opening race, granting access to pit and grid walk events. Customers who purchase seven or more types of player cards will receive a 2022 season pass, and those who purchase 14 or more types will receive the 2022 season pass along with goods.
Customers who purchase all 20 types of player cards will be awarded a 2022 season pass and a taxi time free pass, allowing them to ride alongside a racer in a high-performance racing car and experience track driving.
Additionally, all customers who purchase at least one NFT player card will be entered into a draw each round, where two winners will receive a one-time taxi time usage ticket. Among customers holding the NFT player card of the final winning player, a draw will be held to award the winning player's highlight video NFT via airdrop after the season ends.
Starting with these NFT player cards, CJ OliveNetworks plans to sequentially release NFTs throughout the season featuring winning scenes of round champions, key race moments such as competitions and battles, and player-specific driving videos using drones and in-cam footage.
After the season ends, a special NFT product commemorating the final season champion with a champion package NFT and a 2023 season pass will also be released.
