The Department of Early Childhood Education at Dong-Eui University of Science held the "Senior-Junior Bonding Ceremony of the Department of Early Childhood Education" at the university sports field.
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Du-yeol] The Department of Early Childhood Education at Dong-Eui Institute of Technology held the ‘Early Childhood Education Senior-Junior Pairing Ceremony’ on the 6th at the university sports field to enhance freshmen’s adaptation to college life and foster departmental unity.
The pairing ceremony was organized to build a strong bond between senior and junior students in the Early Childhood Education Department, encouraging mutual cooperation and support toward their dream of becoming kindergarten teachers. The event was attended by freshmen, current students, and faculty members of the department.
The event proceeded in two parts: the first part was a sports competition, followed by a name tag awarding ceremony. During the sports competition, teams were formed based on the department’s advising professors, competing in three events: card flipping, tug-of-war, and cheerleading.
In the name tag awarding ceremony, seniors who were about to begin their childcare and school field training personally pinned name tags they made onto the freshmen’s chests, providing a special moment to reaffirm their sense of mission and responsibility as kindergarten teachers.
Kim Su-yeon, president of the Early Childhood Education student association, said, “The senior-junior pairing ceremony was an opportunity not only to strengthen bonds between seniors and juniors but also to build good relationships with the professors. I hope all students in the Early Childhood Education Department continue to have a vibrant college life.”
The Early Childhood Education Department plans to continue promoting various community experience activities after this event to foster close relationships between seniors and juniors and to deepen students’ understanding of the early childhood education field.
Department head Hyeong Jeong-eun stated, “We will continue to operate various pairing programs so that students can engage in college life with a sense of belonging and pride as Early Childhood Education students and prospective teachers.”
The Early Childhood Education Department at Dong-Eui Institute of Technology maximizes learning effectiveness by operating a learner-centered regular curriculum and supports students’ understanding of the early childhood education field through industry-academia linked curricula such as community-based learning (CBL) and capstone design.
To enhance prospective teachers’ teaching skills and strengthen practical teaching abilities, various extracurricular programs such as teaching research competitions and the Dong-Eui Early Childhood Education Exhibition are also conducted concurrently.
