[Asia Economy Reporter Park Sun-mi] As demand for ultra-high-definition TVs for gaming purposes expands, LG Electronics is launching the world's smallest OLED TV, the 42-inch OLED evo, for the first time in Korea.
On the 13th, LG Electronics announced that starting from the 20th, it will sell the 42-inch LG OLED evo in the Korean market through Naver Shopping's New Product Week event for seven days. From the end of this month, it will also be actively sold through various online channels such as the LG Electronics online brand shop. The domestic shipment price is 1.79 million KRW.
This product features a 42-inch OLED screen, a size suitable for placing on a desk, with 4K (3840x2160) resolution. The pixel density is comparable to that of an 80-inch 8K (7680x4320) TV.
The new product boasts overwhelming picture quality by applying both the LG OLED evo dedicated '5th generation AI α9 processor' and 'image quality algorithms.' It also offers comprehensive gaming performance, including ▲0.1ms response time ▲various graphic compatibility features ▲a gaming board that helps optimize picture settings by game genre ▲and support for a total of four HDMI 2.1 ports.
The new product supports Dolby's latest video technology Dolby Vision IQ and immersive sound technology Dolby Atmos in both general video and gaming environments, providing an immersive viewing experience.
The 42-inch OLED evo is especially attracting high interest from gamers. At the private gaming room of Geumseong Arcade, operated by LG Electronics in Gwangalli, Busan, reservations from gamers wanting to experience the 42-inch OLED evo are booked solid every day.
During Naver Shopping's New Product Week, LG Electronics will provide all customers who purchase the new product with a delivery service voucher worth up to 50,000 KRW or a 12-month PlayStation Plus membership. Customers who write photo reviews on Naver Shopping will receive a gift certificate worth 50,000 KRW, and one best reviewer will be additionally awarded a PlayStation 5.
Kim Sun-hyung, Executive Director of Korea HE Marketing at LG Electronics, said, "The new product is not only a size suitable for placing on a desk but also offers differentiated picture quality and powerful gaming performance, making it the best choice for customers who want a 'personal entertainment TV.'"
