Six Sites Including Gimhae Disabled Workers' Workplace Targeted
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Seryeong] Gyeongsangnam-do is launching a public contest project to support the installation costs of convenience facilities for emotional labor workers.
On the 12th, Gyeongnam Province announced that it will support the installation costs of rest areas and various convenience facilities to alleviate the difficulties experienced at work, protect the rights and interests of emotional labor workers, and improve poor working conditions.
This year, six companies, including the Gimhae Disabled Workers' Workplace, were selected as support targets. Although the support amount varies by company depending on the subsidy application details, a total budget of 30 million KRW will be invested.
The selected companies will receive support for ▲ establishment and renovation of rest areas ▲ purchase of equipment within rest areas such as air conditioners, massage chairs, tables, and water purifiers ▲ installation costs for closed-circuit television (CCTV), telephone recorders, and isolation facilities.
The province stated that this public contest project has been promoted as a pilot project since 2020, supporting a total of 22 companies and institutions up to this year, with about 100 million KRW of project funds invested.
Choi Bangnam, Director of the Labor Policy Division, said, “It is known that emotional labor workers experience more stress than the general public,” and added, “We hope that the created rest spaces will help emotional labor workers separate from emotional exhaustion and live a healthy daily life.”
