From the 22nd to May 11... Targeting Provincial Government and Education Office
The Gyeongsangnam-do Provincial Council's 2021 fiscal year settlement inspection committee members will begin the settlement inspection of the provincial government office and the provincial office of education starting from the 22nd.
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Seryeong] The appointment ceremony for the 2021 fiscal year settlement inspection committee of the Gyeongsangnam-do Provincial Council was held on the 12th in the council meeting room.
The Gyeongnam Provincial Council confirmed a total of 10 members as settlement inspection committee members at the plenary session held on March 16, including 3 provincial council members, 3 financial management experts, 2 certified public accountants, 1 tax accountant, and 1 nominee from civic organizations.
The provincial council members include Kang Cheol-woo, Yoon Seong-mi, and Pyo Byeong-ho, members of the 11th Gyeongnam Provincial Council. Financial management experts include Kim In-su, former chief education specialist of the provincial council, Paeng Hyun-il, former deputy governor of Sancheong, and Han Ji-gyun, former principal of Changwon Jungang High School.
Certified public accountants Kim Myung-hyun from Daum Accounting Firm and Kim Young-beom from Seongsan Accounting Firm, and tax accountant Kim Kyung-hyeop from Sejong Tax Corporation were appointed. Ju Woo-gun, an advisory committee member of the Korea Disabled-Centered Enterprise Association, was selected as the nominee from civic organizations.
The committee members will conduct the settlement inspection targeting the Gyeongnam Provincial Government and the Office of Education for 20 days from the 22nd to May 11, and will deliver the inspection report to the governor and the superintendent of education by May 21.
The governor and the superintendent of education must attach the settlement inspection report prepared and submitted by the settlement inspection committee members to the settlement documents and submit them to the provincial council by May 31. The provincial council will review and approve the 2021 fiscal year settlement at the 397th 1st regular session scheduled to be held in September.
Chairman Kim Ha-yong said, “I hope you carefully examine whether the Gyeongnam Province’s budget was used appropriately for its intended purpose based on professional knowledge and rich experience, and whether there were any cases of improper execution or waste.”
Kang Cheol-woo, the representative member of the settlement inspection, said, “The settlement inspection greatly influences the budget formulation and review for the next year. We will do our best to carefully examine whether the budget was executed legally and effectively to help improve the soundness and efficiency of budget execution.”
