Shinan-gun Secures 2 Billion Won Budget for Jaeun Guyeong-ri Specialized Street Development

Establishing Unique Tourism Infrastructure and Improving Residents' Living Conditions

[Sinan=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Jae-kyung] Guyeong-ri, Jaeun-myeon, Sinan-gun has been selected for the '2022 Public Design Specialized Street Creation Contest Project' hosted by Jeollanam-do.

Sinan-gun has secured a total project budget of 2 billion KRW to transform the deteriorated main streets of the old downtown into pleasant and beautiful streets.

Guyeong-ri, Jaeun-myeon, selected this time, is the central area of Sinan-gun, attracting many visitors with various nearby tourist resources and abundant seafood, including the opening of Cheonsa Bridge, 1004 Museum Park, World Shell Museum, Ramada Hotel, and Baekgil and Bungye Beaches.

However, it is an area urgently needing improvement due to aging village alleys and poor infrastructure.

Going forward, through collecting opinions from local residents, plans include residential area color maintenance, magnolia murals, traditional stone wall maintenance, creation of magnolia paths, store sign maintenance, alley paving, old streetlight maintenance, small parks, parking lots, and creating a pleasant specialized street harmonized with the surrounding resources of the myeon center.

It is expected to greatly contribute to providing high-quality services to local residents and external visitors and revitalizing the local economy.

A county official stated, “We will do our best to improve residential conditions and increase residents' income by resolving inconveniences such as expanding infrastructure in eup and myeon centers, improving residential living environments, and developing clean and distinctive tourism content.”
