Recommended Personnel for the National Assembly Science and ICT Committee
[Asia Economy Reporter Cha Min-young] The Korea Communications Standards Commission announced on the 12th that it has appointed Heo Yeon-hoe, former president of Busan MBC, as a commissioner.
Commissioner Heo joined MBC in 1984 and has served as head of the sports production department, director of the sports production bureau, and president of iMBC. He was previously recommended by the National Assembly's Science, Technology, Information and Broadcasting and Communications Committee (STIBC).
Commissioner Heo was appointed as a replacement commissioner following the resignation of former commissioner Lee Sang-hwi, with a term lasting until August 5, 2024.
The commission consists of nine members according to the "Act on the Establishment and Operation of the Korea Communications Commission," with three members each recommended by the President, the Speaker of the National Assembly, and the STIBC.
