[Naju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Kim Yukbong] Naju City in Jeollanam-do is hosting a "My Own Exhibition" at the Smart Media Station exhibition hall located in Bitgaram Lake Park for citizens to enjoy culture in their daily lives.
According to the city on the 12th, "My Own Exhibition" is conducted through a public contest for citizens, aiming to strengthen the cultural capabilities of citizens as both consumers and producers of culture.
Thirteen teams of individuals, groups, and amateur artists selected through a 10-day contest starting from the 28th of last month are participating. This exhibition, held until the end of this year, showcases various fields of work each month, including Korean painting, calligraphy, practical fabric art, ceramic crafts, photography, and wood carving.
This month features a collaborative exhibition of calligraphy and practical fabric art by artist Jeon Mijeong, and a Korean painting exhibition "Fitting Naju" by artist Baek Eunyoung.
Next month will present a solo Korean painting exhibition by artist Jang Boksu, a watercolor and sketch exhibition by artist Park Sujin (exhibition of little painters), and in June, an urban sketch exhibition "Drawing Naju" by artist Lee Jaejin, and a craft exhibition "Capturing Indigo" by artist Jeong Miyoung will follow.
The exhibition will take a summer break in July and August and resume in September with a Western painting exhibition "Sensation and Expression" by artist Im Heejeong, and a watercolor and acrylic painting exhibition "Blooming Thoughts" by artist Kim Mihui.
In October, club exhibitions by "Ceramic Wildflowers" (representative Kim Heejin) and "Korean Painting Power Plant" (representative Jo Minji) will be held. In November, wood carving art by artist Lee Jinmun and the Naju Cultural Center wood carving class team will be exhibited, and in December, the exhibition will conclude with Korean painting and literary painting by "Korean Painting Creative Studio" (representative Shin Yuhwa) and the 16th Rural Landscape Photo Contest award-winning works by the Korea Rural Community Corporation.
Kim Yunhee, head of the Naju City Culture and Arts Division, said, "We hope this exhibition will meet the diverse cultural needs of citizens in line with the phased recovery of daily life," and added, "We will continue to promote various policies to revitalize culture and arts led by citizens."
