[Asia Economy Reporter No Woo-rae] ○…‘Lotte Rent-a-Car Champ’ Jang Su-yeon (28, Dongbu Construction) has risen to world ranking 124.
In the weekly women's golf world rankings officially announced on the morning of the 12th (Korean time), she received 0.90 points, jumping an impressive 56 spots from 180th place last week. She accumulated points by winning the Lotte Rent-a-Car Women's Open (total prize money 700 million KRW), the opening event of the 2022 KLPGA Tour, held at Lotte Skyhill Golf Club (par 72) in Seogwipo, Jeju Island on the 10th, by a one-stroke margin. This is her 4th career win, the first in 4 years and 7 months since the KLPGA Championship in September 2017.
Runner-up Lee So-mi (23, SBI Savings Bank) also jumped 8 spots to 49th place (2.02 points). There were no changes in the top ranks last week as there were no LPGA Tour events. Ko Jin-young (27) remains 1st (9.59 points), Nelly Korda (USA) 2nd (8.53 points), Lydia Ko (New Zealand) 3rd (6.31 points), and Minjee Lee (Australia) 4th (5.43 points). South Korea is represented by Park In-bee (34, KB Financial Group) at 6th (5.05 points) and Kim Se-young (29, Mediheal) at 9th (4.81 points).
