HiteJinro Provides Safety Facility Support to Fire-Vulnerable Households

[Asia Economy Reporter Song Seung-yoon] Hite Jinro announced on the 11th that it will carry out wildfire prevention activities by donating fire safety facilities to fire-vulnerable households in the mountainous areas of Gyeongsangbuk-do and Jeollabuk-do.

Hite Jinro plans to support the installation of sprinklers in a total of 910 households, including basic livelihood security recipients, elderly living alone, and houses adjacent to forests in the Gyeongbuk and Jeonbuk regions, in cooperation with the Gyeongbuk Fire Headquarters and Jeonbuk Fire Headquarters.

As wood boilers have recently been identified as a major cause of wildfires, Hite Jinro will support the installation of sprinklers in households using wood boilers. Last year, Hite Jinro supported the installation of simple sprinklers in over 1,000 households in the Gangwon region for the first time, and there have been three cases where initial fire suppression was successful due to sprinkler operation, preventing forest fires. This year, the support area will be expanded to enhance wildfire prevention effects.

Kim In-gyu, CEO of Hite Jinro, said, "Since similar fires occur every year, we decided to support the installation of sprinklers that are useful for initial fire suppression," adding, "We will sequentially support wildfire-vulnerable areas nationwide to protect the safety of the people and help reduce the efforts of firefighters."
