Early Summer Weather... CU Sees Surge in Sales of Iced Drink Delafe On the 11th, a customer is purchasing an iced drink Dellaffe at the convenience store CU.

[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chunhan] Last weekend, early summer weather appeared nationwide, leading to a surge in sales of iced drinks at convenience stores.

According to CU, sales of the iced drink 'Delafe' increased by 87.1% compared to the same period the previous week on the 9th and 10th. In particular, the larger the size of the iced drink, the higher the growth rate. The sales growth rate for the smallest size, M (230ml), was 61.8%, for L (355ml) it was 78.9%, and for XL (500ml) it was 97.4%. Sales of cup ice also rose by 73.7%.

By location, sales increased significantly in the following order: amusement parks 221.3%, tourist spots 172.4%, rest areas 86.8%, and resorts 85.4%, while residential areas saw a relatively moderate increase of 17.3%, and office districts 12.6%.

A BGF Retail official said, "The earlier-than-usual rise in temperature led to explosive sales growth of key beverage products, including Delafe, a representative cost-effective product for the spring-summer season. Following last year's industry-first launch of the Venti size product, this year we will strengthen differentiated beverages reflecting the latest trends to help customers enjoy a cool summer."
