Ministry of the Interior and Safety Shares 'Digital Government' with Indian Officials... Online Training from 12th to 15th

[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] The Local Autonomy Human Resources Development Institute under the Ministry of the Interior and Safety announced on the 11th that it will conduct a four-day online training course titled "Strengthening Administrative Competence of Indian Public Officials in the Era of Digital Transformation" for Indian public officials from the 12th to the 15th.

The Indian Institute of Public Administration (ASCI), an educational training institution for Indian public officials, requested the Local Autonomy Human Resources Development Institute to provide training for public officials to learn about Korea's excellent cases of digital government innovation.

Reflecting this request from the Indian government, the Local Autonomy Human Resources Development Institute has organized a customized program covering topics such as Korea's local autonomy system, crisis and change management leadership, public conflict management, digital government innovation, and intelligent public services using information and communication technology (ICT) including smart cities. Experts in these fields will be invited to give lectures.

This training includes a seminar to share excellent cases of intelligent cities (smart cities) from both countries and discuss development directions, designed to enable concrete discussions centered on actual cases.

Meanwhile, since its establishment in 1965, the Local Autonomy Human Resources Development Institute has been providing education and training for central and local public officials, supporting government innovation and the development of local autonomy. Since 2000, it has expanded its training targets to include foreign public officials as well as domestic ones, producing 202 courses and 6,194 graduates to date, contributing to the capacity building of public officials in developing countries.

Through this course, the Local Autonomy Human Resources Development Institute expects Indian public officials to derive policy ideas that can efficiently provide various government services to citizens in the era of digital transformation, significantly improving the quality of life for the people.

Yoon Jong-jin, President of the Local Autonomy Human Resources Development Institute, said, "It is meaningful to prepare an educational course for Indian public officials for the first time," and added, "I hope this training course will serve as an opportunity to further enhance mutual understanding and trust between the two countries."
