Samsung Electronics Completes Next-Generation 'N-ERP' Implementation... Consumer Order Tracking Takes Only 3 Minutes 'OK'

Building a Digital Innovation Business Platform to Respond to Future Management Environments

Samsung Electronics Completes Next-Generation 'N-ERP' Implementation... Consumer Order Tracking Takes Only 3 Minutes 'OK' Samsung Electronics employees are using the new business platform called 'N-ERP'.

[Asia Economy Reporter Sunmi Park] Samsung Electronics announced on the 10th that it has finally completed the next-generation 'N-ERP' system construction project, a digital innovation business platform.

Amid changing management environments such as the emergence of new businesses and convergence, Samsung Electronics has been developing a next-generation business platform for three years together with global ERP company SAP and Samsung SDS to efficiently support business innovation across production, sales, and management.

Samsung Electronics' 'N-ERP' features ▲system integration and introduction of specialized solutions to respond to new businesses ▲system performance improvement for data-driven decision-making ▲application of new technologies such as AI-based decision support and work automation.

'N-ERP' integrated field-specific systems such as sales management and streamlined processes to respond to new businesses. Converged businesses like omni-channel, which integrates D2C and online/offline shopping experiences, can use the system quickly and flexibly. Additionally, by adopting SAP's specialized solutions, innovative functions can be rapidly incorporated. Solutions such as aATP (available-to-promise), EWM (warehouse management), and TM (transportation management) support efficient collaboration with partners even in diverse supply chain environments like logistics diversification.

'N-ERP' also enhanced data processing system performance for data-driven decision-making. By analyzing large-scale data such as online order status and supply chain status in real time, it enables management simulation and risk sensing, supporting employees to make more rational decisions.

Furthermore, AI-based decision support and work automation technologies were applied to improve convenience. Machine learning supporting decision-making, OCR (Optical Character Recognition) and RPA (Robotic Process Automation) technologies automating data tasks and repetitive work allow employees to focus on core tasks.

After applying N-ERP to global subsidiaries and operating it for three months until the quarterly settlement was completed, actual work processing speed increased and productivity improved. Also, the time to grasp the status of rapidly increasing consumer direct orders due to D2C expansion, which previously took more than 20 minutes, was reduced to within 3 to 4 minutes.

Seongwoo Moon, Vice President of Samsung Electronics Management Innovation Center, said, "N-ERP is a next-generation platform that can strengthen business agility and productivity," adding, "It will play a pivotal role in supporting Samsung Electronics' digital innovation."
