Fan Club Yeongungsidae WithHero, Shinsegae Construction Leisure Division, Spring Concert Joint Creation
First Case of Garden Culture Expansion Created Together by Government Offices, Companies, and Citizens
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] A 'Hero Garden' has been established at Seoul Grand Park. Fans of singer Lim Young-woong voluntarily raised funds to create a garden at Seoul Grand Park, where citizens can continuously enjoy flowers and trees, fostering a new fan culture that promotes healing. In addition, Shinsegae Construction's Leisure Division, which practices ESG management, joined the effort, making this a case where government offices, corporations, and citizens collaboratively created a garden to spread garden culture.
According to Seoul City on the 11th, the Hero Garden was promoted as part of the Flower Forest Project, ambitiously underway since last year with the goal of 'creating a garden with citizens' at Seoul Grand Park. Lim Young-woong's fan club, Youngwoong Era with Hero (with Hero), voluntarily raised funds, and the landscaping team of Shinsegae Construction's Leisure Division, which practices ESG management, took charge of construction. Spring Concert, a cultural performance planning group, participated in the garden planning to enhance its completeness.
Besides the Hero Garden, Shinsegae Construction's Leisure Division signed a business agreement with Seoul Grand Park on the 31st to promote ESG projects such as natural environment protection and endangered species conservation within Seoul Grand Park.
The Hero Garden was created in front of the Seoul Grand Park General Information Center, covering an area of 1,450m². It is expected to attract more attention as it harmonizes with the popular 'Cotton Candy Elephant' sculpture loved by visitors. The design of Hero Garden includes the 'Sky Blue Garden,' where the fan club's official color, sky blue, can be enjoyed throughout the four seasons, and a hydrangea walkway where visitors can admire beautiful sky-blue hydrangeas. About 40 species of herbaceous plants, including oakleaf hydrangea, nemophila, lamb's ear, and thyme, are mixed and planted to create a garden that changes with the seasons.
Director Lee Soo-yeon said, “The Hero Garden, created through the voluntary participation of Seoul Grand Park, corporations, and citizens, is even more meaningful because more citizens will be able to enjoy and share this garden in the future,” adding, “Through the successful case of Hero Garden, Seoul Grand Park will strive to realize a community garden platform created by everyone together.”
