[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Isul] EXO's Chinese member Lay (Zhang Yixing) is leaving SM Entertainment. However, the possibility of group activities remains open.
An SM Entertainment representative told Asia Economy on the 8th, "Lay's exclusive contract has expired," and added, "We are discussing a new form of contract."
The group EXO, which debuted on April 8, 2012, celebrated its 10th anniversary on this day. Lay posted on his social media, "I am parting ways with SM," and said, "I am preparing for a new start at the age of 30."
He continued, "I will always be by your side as Lay. Zhang Yixing is like family living in China. I will always be with the members," and expressed, "Thank you for your boundless love and support."
Following Kris, Luhan, and Tao, who previously left EXO, all Chinese members including Lay have now departed from SM.
