[Asia Economy Online Issue Team] Comedian Lee Jung-soo revealed his recent life as a full-time househusband.

On the 7th, the MBN educational program 'Exclusive World' aired a story about Lee Jung-soo, who quit being a comedian and started life as a full-time househusband.

In the broadcast, Lee Jung-soo skillfully prepared dinner for his two daughters, aged 9 and 16 months, and took care of all the household chores. Regarding why he became a full-time househusband, he said, "My work suddenly stopped. Honestly, I cried a lot at that time. I think I was going through a very difficult period in many ways," adding, "The hardest part was when I decided to quit being a comedian. And the reactions I got when I told my fellow senior and junior comedians were also tough. Honestly, at that time, it was a kind of escape," he confessed.

Lee Jung-soo continued, "My wife was earning well, and since the child was born, I thought I should be a full-time househusband. As I kept taking care of the child and doing housework repeatedly, I felt my self-esteem drop, thinking, 'I used to be a celebrity, so what is this?'" but he also said, "That period gave me a good time. It was a moment when I could look at things objectively."

He also shared that his mother was very disappointed after he quit being a comedian. He revealed, "My mother tried very hard not to acknowledge it. To her, her son was still the one standing alone like a true superstar on 'Gag Concert'." He added, "Even now, my mother has those feelings. She hopes that her son will become a star entertainer again. But it's a bit less than before," and continued, "She seems to have somewhat resigned herself, thinking, 'Oh, I guess this is my son now.'"
