Guidance on Key Schedules and Candidate Registration Procedures
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] The Gwangju Metropolitan City Election Commission announced on the 7th that it will hold a briefing session for candidates for the 8th nationwide simultaneous local elections from the 12th to the 19th.
The sessions are targeted at prospective candidates, election campaign managers and staff, and party officials for each city and district election commission.
The briefing will cover ▲ key schedules for the local elections and candidate registration procedures ▲ how to fill out registration documents and various reporting and application matters ▲ methods of election campaigning allowed for candidates and restrictions and prohibited acts.
The Gwangju Election Commission will hold a session related to the mayoral, superintendent of education, and proportional representation city council elections on the 12th at 2 p.m. in the Gwangju Election Commission’s main conference room, while each district election commission will hold sessions related to district mayors and local city and district council elections.
Dong-gu and Seo-gu will hold sessions at their respective district election commissions on the 12th at 2 p.m., Nam-gu and Buk-gu on the 13th at 2 p.m. at Jeonnam National University Yongbong Culture Hall, and Gwangsan-gu on the 19th at 2 p.m. at Gwangju Women’s University Gymnasium.
A Gwangju Election Commission official said, “Through the briefing sessions, we will guide candidates on how to register, how to prepare documents, and restrictions and prohibitions on election campaigning, so prospective candidates and others must attend.”
