[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Chaeseok] SK Geocentric announced on the 6th that its CEO, President Na Kyungsoo, and new employees participated in a volunteer activity picking up plastic waste near Seoul Station and Namdaemun Market.

President Na walked about 2.3 km from the Seoul 7017 elevated walkway in Malli-dong, Jung-gu, Seoul, to Namdaemun Market with new employees who joined this year, picking up trash in a 'plogging' volunteer activity. According to SKG, the volunteer event was initiated at President Na's suggestion.

President Na is driving business innovation with the goal of building a 'plastic circular economy.' He said, "Eco-friendliness starts with small actions and practices," and has been practicing plogging volunteer work since last year.

He told the new employees, "Environmental regulations are strengthening starting from Europe and the United States, and the recycled plastic market is growing faster than expected, which will be an opportunity for SKG," adding, "By securing recycling technology, we will build Asia's first recycling cluster and transform into an 'urban mining company.'"

SKG, which produces plastic raw materials, set the goal of 'zero plastic waste and carbon' last year and has been actively pursuing a transition to an eco-friendly chemical company starting this year.
