[Asia Economy Sejong=Reporter Dongwoo Lee] Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO) announced on the 6th that it will conduct an open recruitment for the '2nd KEPCO National Audit Committee' until the 15th.

The 'KEPCO National Audit Committee' system is implemented to discover and improve unreasonable systems and practices related to KEPCO's power services from the objective perspective of the general public.

This year, the number of auditors for the 2nd term has been expanded from 10 to 12. By supporting visits to business site operations and providing KEPCO's management issues, it plans to support the discovery of highly acceptable tasks for the National Audit Committee, while also enhancing operations by strengthening cooperation with integrity citizen auditors from other organizations.

Among the 12 members, 7 will be recruited from the 'general public' and 5 from 'executives and employees belonging to electrical construction specialized companies.' The general public will participate in improving services and systems related to power supply, electricity rates, and utility pole relocation, which are points of contact with the public. Executives and employees of electrical construction specialized companies will also be responsible for system improvements related to safety management and corruption prevention in contracts.

Preferred qualifications for the 'general public' selection include ▲those with extensive knowledge and experience in the energy industry and audit work ▲holders of professional certifications such as judicial scrivener, accountant, or engineer ▲those with activities or experience related to anti-corruption laws such as the Conflict of Interest Prevention Act ▲members of related power industry organizations or civil society organizations recommended by the respective organizations.

Applicants can submit the 'KEPCO National Audit Committee Application Form' by mail or email, and the application form can be downloaded from the KEPCO website. Selected KEPCO National Audit Committee members will engage in activities for one year, proposing inconveniences and improvements in customer contact services, as well as suggesting unreasonable systems and unfair work processing experiences and improvement opinions related to contracts with KEPCO.

Choi Young-ho, KEPCO's Standing Audit Committee Member, said, "We will expand the operation of the KEPCO National Audit Committee system to boldly improve unnecessary regulations, enhance public services, and take the lead in establishing a culture of integrity."
