[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Chaeseok] Hanwha Solutions Q CELLS Division (Hanwha Q CELLS) announced on the 6th that it will participate in the '2022 International Green Energy Expo' held for three days from the 13th to the 15th at Daegu EXCO, showcasing energy solutions including floating solar power.

The event is the largest domestic exhibition specializing in new and renewable energy, hosted by Gyeongsangbuk-do and Daegu Metropolitan City, and organized by four domestic new and renewable energy-related associations including the Korea Photovoltaic Industry Association. About 200 related companies and institutions are participating, and approximately 20,000 visitors are expected.

Hanwha Q CELLS plans to emphasize its commitment to ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) management while promoting its expanding eco-friendly energy businesses at this exhibition. Hanwha Q CELLS intends to apply the image fitting its newly announced brand identity (BI) throughout the booth.

The booth will be divided into five zones: next-generation solar technology, floating solar power, agrivoltaics, residential solutions, and commercial solutions.

In the next-generation technology zone located at the front of the booth, Hanwha Q CELLS will exhibit perovskite tandem cells and next-generation module prototypes under development. The tandem cell is a product Hanwha Q CELLS is researching and developing with the goal of mass production and commercialization by 2025. It is a solar cell made by stacking perovskite on top of a silicon cell. Perovskite is gaining attention as a next-generation solar cell material. The perovskite layer absorbs short-wavelength light, and the silicon layer absorbs long-wavelength light, increasing the potential power generation efficiency compared to conventional silicon cells.

Solar solutions suitable for site conditions such as water surfaces and farmland will also be exhibited. In the floating solar zone, Hanwha Q CELLS' dedicated floating solar module 'Q.PEAK DUO Poseidon G11' will be displayed. Released last year, the Poseidon G11 uses eco-friendly materials with low moisture permeability to enhance durability. In the agrivoltaics zone, solar modules dedicated to installation on farmland will be exhibited. Agrivoltaics is a product that has sparked controversy due to its positive functions such as preserving farmers' income and negative reactions from farmers regarding impurity runoff. Since April last year, Hanwha Q CELLS has participated as a co-research institution in a national project researching standard models for agrivoltaics.

Additionally, in the residential zone, the residential solar solution 'Q.HOME CORE,' which includes an energy storage system (ESS), will be exhibited, and in the commercial zone, the 'Q.PEAK DUO G11,' with a maximum output of up to 585 watts peak (Wp), will be displayed. Lee Gu-young, CEO of Hanwha Q CELLS, said, "Hanwha Q CELLS already boasts high quality and performance as a premium brand in the global market," adding, "We will do our best to maximize customer satisfaction by providing customized solutions domestically as well."
