GS The Fresh, Unique Fruits 'Popular'... "Surpassed Traditional Fruit Sales" On the 6th, a model at GS The Fresh is introducing elephant mango and Kingsberry.

[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chunhan] Recently, exotic fruits such as Kingsberry and Shine Muscat have become more popular among consumers than traditional fruits like apples and pears.

According to GS The Fresh on the 6th, the sales composition ratio of exotic fruits increased from 48.7% in 2019 to 60.4% in 2021, surpassing traditional fruits.

In particular, Shine Muscat sales accounted for 71% of total grape sales, establishing itself as a trend, and Kingsberry, which is more than three times larger than regular strawberries, accounts for 37% of total strawberry sales this year.

GS The Fresh is offering exotic fruits such as Cara Cara oranges (red-fleshed oranges), Giant Elephant mangoes, and Rainbow mangoes at discounted prices when paid with GS Pay until the 12th. Additionally, about 50 types of imported fruits are also being offered at a 20% discount.

A GS Retail official said, “Recent fruit consumption seems to be shifting from a trend of seeking cost-effectiveness to value consumption that considers emotional satisfaction over the past few years,” adding, “As we are committed to the slogan of fresh taste differentiation, we will put more effort into discovering products to provide special customer experiences.”
