[Asia Economy Reporter Eunmo Koo] Nongshim announced on the 6th that it will launch ‘Salad Noodles,’ which allows consumers to enjoy salad and dried noodles together. Composed of oriental dressing sauce, dried noodles, and various separate ingredients, Salad Noodles contain 430 kcal in 128g, which is more in quantity but lower in calories compared to Shin Ramyun (120g, 500 kcal).
In particular, ingredients commonly found in salads such as chicken breast, cabbage, cranberries, and almonds are included in the separate soup packet, enhancing not only taste and nutrition but also visual appeal. The noodles are ‘Red Noodles,’ colored with natural ingredients like tomato and paprika, and are soft and chewy as they are dried noodles that are not fried in oil. Additionally, a generous amount of tangy oriental dressing sauce is included, allowing consumers to add various ingredients such as vegetables according to their preference for a richer experience.
Salad Noodles were developed in line with the recent ‘Healthy Pleasure’ trend spreading among the MZ generation (Millennials + Generation Z). Healthy Pleasure means pursuing enjoyment while managing health. A Nongshim official stated, “We will quickly respond to newly emerging consumer trends like Healthy Pleasure and expand consumer choices by introducing products that are easy and delicious to enjoy using dried noodle technology.”
