Daesang Life Science Obtains GMP Certification for Health Functional Foods at 'Cheonan 2 Plant'

[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Gwan-joo] Daesang Life Science announced on the 6th that it has obtained new business approval and GMP certification as a health functional food specialized manufacturer for its Cheonan Plant 2, which was completed in December last year.

Health functional food GMP is a standard to manufacture safe and high-quality health functional foods. It refers to a system recognized by the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety, where a business operator licensed for health functional food manufacturing establishes and applies standards for quality, manufacturing, and hygiene management with appropriate manufacturing facilities and equipment.

Through this certification, Daesang Life Science plans to expand its lineup from the special medical purpose foods it previously produced to health functional foods, further segmenting its product groups to meet consumers' health management demands and supply a variety of products.

Daesang Life Science also plans to sequentially obtain major quality certifications such as the global Food Safety System Certification (FSSC 22000) and Halal certification.
